Our Story

Custom Solutions, Inc. was founded in 2000 with a simple idea: Kentucky’s county and city offices deserve software that’s built for the way they actually work — not some one-size-fits-all product designed for a different state or a different industry.

Since then, we’ve grown to serve over a dozen counties and cities across the Commonwealth. Our software handles everything from tax collection and fee management to records tracking and court document processing. We’re not a giant corporation with a 1-800 number — well, OK, we do have the 800 number — but when you call it, you talk to the people who actually build and maintain your software. No phone trees, no ticket numbers, no “your call is important to us.” Just a real conversation with someone who knows your system inside and out.

That direct relationship is what sets us apart. We listen to the clerks and administrators who use our tools every day, and we build what they need. Many of the features in our software exist because a client picked up the phone and said, “It would be really nice if the system could do this.” More often than not, it can by the next update.

Looking Ahead

We’re in the middle of the biggest modernization effort in our company’s history. Every one of our core products is being rewritten from the ground up — new technology, new interfaces, and new capabilities, all while keeping the reliability and simplicity our clients count on.

FormFill and CashDrawer are already running on the new platform. Papers is nearly ready for deployment. And Tax Collector, the successor to our flagship SAINT system, is on track for 2026 with expanded reporting, franchise tax support, and much deeper functionality for city tax collection.
